Setting It Up
To configure restreaming for your event, proceed with the following steps:
Open your Live (Standard) Event.
Navigate to Customize.
Scroll down and select the Restreaming card.
For each platform you would like to stream to (YouTube, Facebook, or LinkedIn), enter the required Stream Key and Stream URL from the respective platforms.
Once you have entered the Stream Key and Stream URL, use the individual toggles on the right-hand side to enable the platform(s) you would like to restream to. Click Done when finished.
You can enable YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, or multiple platforms simultaneously.
How to Find Your Restreaming Key
Youtube
Head to https://studio.youtube.com/ and click on the Go Live icon in the upper-right corner.
Copy the default Stream Key from the top corner of the YT room and paste it into Demio.
Scroll down to Stream Settings and copy the Stream URL as well.
Paste the credentials into Demio and enable the YouTube restreaming platform.
Log in to Facebook and head to https://www.facebook.com/live/producer.
Click Create Live Video Event and schedule your event if not yet ready, or click on Go Live if ready to restream your event.
Once you open the scheduled event in Live Producer, or if you directly choose to go live, select Streaming Software as the video source.
Under Streaming Software Setup, copy the Stream Key and paste it into Demio.
Scroll down to Advanced Settings and copy the Server URL, paste it into Demio.
Enable the Facebook restreaming platform in Demio.
Head to https://www.linkedin.com/video/golive/now/ in your LinkedIn account.
Within Live Studio, create a new stream to either Go Live Now or Schedule for later.
Under Stream Settings, after choosing your region, copy your Stream URL and Stream Key and add them to your Demio event under the restreaming card.
Toggle the LinkedIn restreaming platform on.
Restreaming is set up on an Event level. Once set up for the Event, all future Sessions of this Event use the same Restreaming settings.
Before Going Live
All enabled restreaming platforms will be visible in the webinar room in an unfurled banner, allowing you to confirm where your Session will be broadcast.
NOTE: This banner will collapse after a few seconds to only show the restreaming icon.
Hover over the icon to show the restreaming settings.
Clicking on "Start the Session" will open the start modal, which will also show the option to enable or disable restreaming before finally clicking on the Start Session button. Clicking on the Restreaming gear icon brings you to the Restreaming Settings.
After the Host starts the session, restreaming automatically begins broadcasting to all enabled platforms.
Restreaming must be configured before the session starts, as it cannot be enabled or updated once the Session is live.
During an active Session, the Restreaming icon displays the enabled streaming platforms. Hovering over the Restreaming indicator will display additional information about the Restreaming connection.
Restreaming has a few seconds of latency compared to Demio Live Stream.
Ending The Session
Upon completing your event and officially ending the session, the restreaming to other platforms ends automatically as well.
Upcoming Schedule Page
On the Upcoming Schedule page, restreaming icons are displayed next to each Event, allowing Hosts to quickly identify which external platforms have been configured for restreaming. If multiple platforms are enabled for an Event, the corresponding platform icons will be shown, providing visibility into where the session will be broadcast.
Past Sessions
After a Session has ended, the Past Sessions page will continue to display the Restreaming platform icons for that Session. This allows Hosts to quickly identify which external platforms, such as YouTube, Facebook, or LinkedIn, were used for Restreaming.
Important To Note
Demio chat and polls are not available on external platforms.
Restreaming is available on the Premium plan or higher. If you already have a paid Demio plan and want to upgrade to the Premium plan to enable transcriptions, you can follow these steps to upgrade from within your Billing Settings.
