If you're unable to connect your webcam and/or microphone in the Demio Event room, it's most likely because the correct browser permissions haven't been set.
While Demio automatically asks for these permissions when you first try to connect your devices, they can become revoked for various reasons. We'll be exploring how to manually check and enable them in different browsers.
Google Chrome
Enabling Webcam/Microphone Permissions in Google Chrome
When you're in the Demio Event room, you'll see a Lock Icon in the URL bar, located to the left of the URL. Simply click on the icon to open up the permission window.
For both the Camera and Microphone settings, you'll want to select Allow from the dropdown.
Once you've done that, you'll find that you can now connect your devices (you may need to refresh your Session).
Firefox

In the URL bar, located to the left of the URL, you'll see an Info Icon alongside a Lock Icon. Simply click on the icon to open up the permission window.
You'll want to ensure that the Use the Camera and Use the Microphone options under Permissions are set to Allowed or Temporarily Allowed.
In the case that they aren't, simply remove that setting (using the X next to the current status) for each permission.
Then refresh the page to allow the browser to re-prompt for those permissions. You'll want to select Allow from this next prompt. You can also check the Remember this decision box to ensure that the settings stay the way you want.
Once you've done that, you'll find that you can now connect your devices (you may need to refresh your Session).
Safari
Enabling Webcam/Microphone Permissions in Safare
You'll want to start by secondary clicking (right-click or control-click) on the URL bar. From there, you'll want to select the Settings for This Website... option.
This will open up the permission window. For both the Camera and Microphone settings, you'll want to select Allow from the dropdown.
Once you've done that, you'll find that you can now connect your devices (you may need to refresh your Session).
Still having issues?
If you're selecting Allow permissions and still receiving a "Demio doesn't have permissions" message, your browser may not have device access at a system-level.
