Roles in the Event Room

There are three roles for the Event Room in Demio. They are Host, Presenter, and Moderator.

Hosts are responsible for starting and stopping the Session. The Host has permission to moderate chat, resources, and Attendees, enable webcam and microphone, as well as present any slides, videos, or share screen to the audience.

Account Owners can add Team members (Admins or Members) and set different Hosts for specific Events (available for Growth or Premium plans). Team members have access to all Event settings and can host webinar Sessions if they have the Host Ability.

On any of our plans, you can add Guest Presenters and Moderators. Both will be able to join a specific Event room and have different permissions allowing you to bring on your team in different ways, but they will not receive their own Demio account.

  • Presenters have permission to moderate chat, resources, and Attendees, and enable their webcam, microphone, and virtual background, as well as present any slides, or videos, or share their screen with the audience.

  • Moderators have permission to moderate chat, resources, and Attendees. They can also enable their microphone and webcam if they are invited to the stage, but cannot present anything to the Attendees (slides/videos/screen share).
